Forged Figures Park, September, Donetsk

Blacksmiths art festivals have been taking place in Donetsk for 8 years. In 2001 in the course of the regular blacksmiths festival the Forged Figures Park was established in the public garden of the City executive committee of Donetsk. The project was initiated by Victor Burduk, chief director of Ukrainian Gefest blacksmiths enterprise and master of decorative and applied arts and under the aegis of the Donetsk City Council. Developing from year to year, the park has become one of the most famous places of interest in the capital city of Donetsk region. The 7th festival of blacksmiths art in Donetsk

Holidays are taken very seriously in Donbass capital. And considering the fact that the City Day of Donetsk is held at the same day as the Miner’s Day, the level of all the festive events is double high. This year the President of Ukraine was personally present at the celebration of veterans of miner’s work in Donetsk that took place on the 28th of August. We can say that Viktor Andreevich respects blacksmiths as much as miners. That’s why he visited the 7th All-Ukrainian the Forged Figures Park-2005 Festival of blacksmiths art the same day. New works by the best blacksmiths-artists in Ukraine and the competitive spirit of the 1st Ukrainian blacksmiths all-round events championship impressed greatly not only the President but also all the festival participants and audience. THE FORGED FIGURES PARK 2008

The 10th international Forged Figures Park – 2008 festival of blacksmiths art established by the Ukrainian Gefest blacksmiths enterprise and organized by the Donbass Blacksmiths Guild is going on! Although there are no tents, stage, furnaces and anvils on the square behind the Donetsk City Council building, festival is going on with the exhibition of 70 author’s works from 13 regions of Ukraine as well as from Holland and Belgium. Гефайстон, Чехія «Ковальскій сімпозіум»

Ось уже протягом 22 років наприкінці серпня тут відбувається один з найбільших ковальських симпозіумів. Протягом трьох днів фестивалю сюди з'їжджаються ковалі, художники з металу, ювеліри, мистецтвознавці, архітектори та просто усі бажаючі. Тут ковалі зі всього світу мають змогу показати свою майстерність, обмінятися досвідом та вмінням. На території замку виставлені сотні експонатів, зі всіх боків оточують скульптури з заліза, ковані крісла, решітки... Цього року на фестивалі кількість учасників сягнула вражаючої цифри — близько 600 учасників з 23 країн світу і з чотирьох континентів. Властители огня и металла

Когда впервые под ударом молота прогнулся раскаленный металл, в то же мгновение перед человечеством пали завесы всех семи магических врат. Кто-то выбирал путь меча, другие — орала, но с тех пор в руках кузнеца оказались выкованные им ключи от богатства и счастья.
